I’m totally with you. I discovered Medium about six months ago and have used it as a repository for my mundane essays about things I find absolutely hilarious and as a substitute for therapy. I flatly refuse to cater to the click baity-y, self-help-y crap I see here with alarming regularity. As such, I may have to accept that the first fifty claps I get on anything I post will be from my mother, the next ten are from my high school poetry teacher, a handful will be from Facebook friends who have figured out how to use the clap function, and the rest will be dribs and drabs from people who, in a fit of WHATEVER, decided to follow me. But that’s ok because I’m enjoying myself. Thanks for writing this!
